Devoted Squeak Passes Away

On 02 June 2002 Terry Ford was brutally murdered on his farm in Zimbabwe.

14 year old ‘Squeak’, his faithful Jack Russell did not leave him during the entire horrendous attack and lay by his side throughout the night until Terry’s body was discovered the following morning. Even then, during the investigation of the scene, devoted Squeak still refused to leave Terry’s side.

Squeak has been cared for since that tragic day by the late Terry Ford’s Son, Mark, along with Terry’s other Jack Russell, ‘Bubbles’.

In July 2002 we were all moved to learn from Merritt Clifton, the editor of Animal People in USA, that Squeak had been awarded 'The Elisabeth Lewyt Award for Humane or Compassionate Animals' by the North Shore Animal League in America.

In September of the same year Squeak suffered a stroke from which he later made a full recovery, although he required constant medication.

We were very sad to learn from Mark today that brave Squeak passed away this morning and Terry has finally been rejoined by his devoted canine companion.

Today we remember Terry Ford and Squeak.
